We are looking to hire a dedicated School Counselor to support the academic, personal, social, and emotional development of our students. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, parents, and external agencies to promote student wellbeing, provide guidance services, and foster a positive and inclusive school environment.

Competitive annual salary based on the KES Qualified Teacher Salary Scale, qualifications, certification, and verified years of experience

School Counselor Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, School Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in School Counseling (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years' relevant counseling experience (preferred).
  • School counseling or teaching license (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

School Counselor Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling to support students' academic, social, emotional, and career development.
  • Work collaboratively with school leadership, teachers, parents, and external agencies to support student wellbeing.
  • Deliver the school's guidance and wellbeing programme.
  • Support students through crisis intervention and safeguarding procedures where appropriate.
  • Assist with student scheduling, transitions, referrals, and student support plans.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
  • Monitor student wellbeing and provide appropriate interventions.
  • Participate in parent meetings, multidisciplinary meetings, and professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
