Full job description
A Private Home Care Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients in their homes, ensuring their health, safety, and comfort. The nurse administers medications, monitors the patient's condition, assists with daily living activities, and works closely with family members and healthcare providers to deliver personalized care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in the patient's home according to the prescribed care plan.
- Monitor and assess the patient's health condition, including vital signs and symptoms.
- Administer medications, injections, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed by a physician.
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, and other clinical procedures.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility when required.
- Maintain accurate nursing records and document patient progress.
- Educate patients and family members on medications, treatment plans, and health management.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide first aid or emergency care when necessary.
- Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care.
- Ensure infection prevention and control practices are followed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and provide compassionate, respectful care.
- Report changes in the patient's condition to the attending physician or family as appropriate.
- Perform other nursing duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license from the home country and eligibility to practice in the country of employment.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience (home care, hospital, ICU, ER, or medical-surgical experience preferred).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is an advantage.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and provide patient-centered care.
- Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays if required.
