Being a Kindergarten Teacher teaches you to be kind and patient. working with little children can be challenging sometimes. It is a hard job dealing with students but very rewarding at the end of the day.

Micro managed to the smallest detail. Management is uncaring, cruel and has unrealistic expectations with no support from principals. Those who speak out are punished or replaced. A culture of fear... the DO is bipolar and will flip on you in an instant. Pay is reasonable but not worth the high stress, paper heavy deliverables required each week.

This was a vile school with a greedy soul. Corrupt practices, abusive students, unreasonable demands, lacking integrity... They lost a staff member per week for the whole year I worked there. Morale was miserable, staff were selling tests right and left, admin was gutless and incompetent. A sick shitshow - may it burn.

As someone who has worked in various international schools, across the world, ABS by far takes the cake in ranking as the worst place to work. The CEO is on a power trip and needs to get off of her high horse; she could care less about her employees health and safety. She illegally hires foreign staff without providing them with residency permits to live legally in Kuwait, does not adhere to her own contracts and guidelines, matter of fact she doesn't not even allow her employees to keep a copy of their contract (which is standard in every job in the world). Additionally, she disregards rulings and decrees put out by the local Ministry of Education and health and forces her teachers to work during health epidemics, as schools across the country are closed.

The job culture is summarized as "shut up and do your work". Thats it. The American CEO, is running a money mill exploiting young children and her employees...its absolutely heartbreaking to see such terrible management and lack of respect for human life and dignity. I have no words for the leadership, short of changing completely and getting a new CEO this school has no hope to provide their students and community with professional teachers because she can't keep anyone around longer than a year due to her terrible behavior and treatment of her workers.

There is no shock they have such high turnover...whats even worse is that everyone else in management has adopted the same mentality out of fear of the CEO.

Long story short, avoid at all costs. They don't pay enough to abuse and treat their employees the way they

If your are considering working here...don't. The school is high in turnover for a reason. Lawsuits are still ongoing for poor practices in regard to firing without grounds, not issuing resident visas and on and on. You will fill out a form to use the copy machine. You will not be allowed off school property during business hours. The upper management is solely in it for the money. The neighborhood it is located in is very dodgy.

HR makes a challenging work environment more complicated than necessary. Elementary faculty and admin are supportive and professional given the circumstances. The school has the potential to be special, but management needs to evaluate how they run their operation and treat their employees. Alarming rate of turnover.

This school is very cheap and nickel and dimes its teachers to death. It has a great potential to be a really great school, but the owners are too money hungry. Fellow teachers and admin staff are actually quite friendly. This still does not make up for inadequate pay and treatment from the higher-ups in the school. I did not receive a full paycheck from this place until after 5 months of working there due to "deductions' that they try their hardest to never explain, and will not provide you with a pay stub.
Pros
nice colleagues
Cons
long hours, pay frequently deducted.

This was my first ever internship and is probably why I continued searching for jobs every summer since then. I was allocated colleagues that were the same age as me which made it easier. All problems I faced were easily and professionally solved by the people running the place.

This is a very fast paced and competitive work environment with many challenges for westerners. However with that being said it is a very rewarding place if you adaptable.
