I have noticed racism at many times. No reaction to the complaints made. Some people r smart enough to wisely waste their time by getting involved in activities for long time and this makes others to work more. Thanks
Too much work load
2 shift patterns available every shift was the same very boring . Back stabbing management and if you weren't in the click with other members of staff you might as well not be there .I found it very stressful and sometimes it was like being back in kindergarten to be honest
Half price lunch while on duty.free coffee
Mind numbingly boring shifts
BP provided a great work environment with many talented people to draw knowledge from. Management is accessible and the immediate management is receptive to employees needs.
Good coworkers and relaxed work environment
Job stability and security
Great place to work most of the time. Busy and hard work so don't apply if you want to doss around. Great place if ypur on shift with the right people, area manager not great never said anything positive, never intereacted with team members. Overall i have worked for much worse places, they certainly could offer better benefits for staff including better lunch allowance and discounts.
Lunch allowance. Fun team
Lazy staff not pulled up
Generally a very busy place to work, if you like fast pace work environment, this will suit perfectly, however this also mean work-life balance will impact as the they are consistently short staff, so sometimes you will require to work continuously or overtime. But the hardest part of the job is dealing with foreign customers especially those from Asian countries and customer who think they know more than you do.
Higher than govt rate, no youth rate, staff discount.
inflexible roster time
I was taught how to greet customers, show them merchandise that may appeal to them and help them select the correct size. In the complaints area of customer service I worked the return desk, where the company policy was exchange only, no refunds. Enforcing this policy took skill in handling people so they left the store happy with either different merchandise or a store credit.I have always Communicate with customers so i knew know what they want.
50 percent off for lunch
Manager wasn't very professional. Manager also didn't take much consideration for my time at college (even though she was aware of my further education at the time of employment. Staff we're nice, however was forced to undertake "work further reading" outside of work after being advised that this would be within work time - normally wouldn't have been a problem but the manager was aware of my work load at the time whilst at college.

Do these reviews help you learn more about working at bp?
not very busy days at work, learned a lot about courier delivery, international money transfer, etc. average management , staff and site manger cutting corners to present a good picture to the area manager and regional manager. Too much gossip among staff behind the back . Hardest part is to listen the complaints and excuses of other senior staff members and do the jobs assigned to them . when it a busy day and customer appreciated good service.
excessive pressure to perform in store competitions
is keeped clean and coffee bar is up and running by 6 am i learned to pick to my shelf management is poor the hardess part is to make sure thaat you didnt become in cash while runnng the regester.
lacks of help
Worked night shift having 2 degrees and working toward another. On leaving manager said, I thought you should have gone for manager BUT he never once told me that whilst working there...LOL!
This is a good company to work for. I work night shifts so from 10pm until 6am. My job role is to complete various tasks in a safe environment while serving customers. Some tasking involved are sales and waste, bakery, working the shop floor, authorising fuel and serving customers.
Discounts on breaks
Management / team work
Annoying shift hours if you have a family. Hours are rotated between, 6am - 2pm, 2pm- 10pm, and 10pm - 6am. A lot to learn with health and safety as there are many potential dangers. Busy periods and quiet periods. Work is relatively straight forward, and wages are okay. biggest issue is people stealing fuel, so a good eye and a good memory for reading number plates is an advantage. On the whole, it is a good place start.
up to 50% off meals
sometimes work through break
