Lead design architecture focus on Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) capabilities, provisioned cyber security solution between diverse technologies component across critical agency infrastructure to enable reporting for federal and agency dashboard platforms.
Great for a first job out of college, but not as good long-term. Great flexibility and work-life balance; most weeks will be 40 hour weeks with flexible scheduling. Generally decent job security if you're in one of the delivery centers but less security for everyone else. Slower on advancement and lesser in pay than nearly all companies in both the technology and consulting spaces.
One of the worst MSP to work for. All they care about is their CEO's and profit share holders money. Was laid off (perhaps age?) because of the company was loosing money (was there reasoning), but turned out they had already replaced my position the next day. I had worked long days, long weekends spent a lot of time working with no compensation or gratitude other than what came from the client. It also became very stressfull environment all due to their unprofessional management (a lot of swearing and finger pointing).
Good to experience with them they try to do the best they can with with you. A lot of freedom To get your job done In a remote work environment. They have a good clients That work well with the company.
The health care could be better
Inflated sense of what company is capable of delivering. Good people but aimless management. Poor training options for technical folks. If not for CGI's massive presence it brings to new opportunities, your average small startup would eat their lunch in delivering lean, well-written solutions if given the chance.
Good place for new hires fresh out of school to learn the ropes...
Horribly organized intranet for employees to find what they need
They don't keep their word on compensation. Promotion is from who you know not what you know or performance. Layoffs are. Random without 2 week notice. They treat federal workers with compassion and respect and make is sit through meetings praising promotion and compassion of federal workers and disregard contract workers.
17 hr wage to 20. Insurance is Cigna 401
No in house human resources for 400 workers. No promotion no respect.
CGI is a great company and I enjoy working for them. The one downfall is they want you to sell something before you build it versus build then sell. This is a downfall in my mind as the building is hurried and not vetted out.
Great work life balance
Proximity Model, means if you don't work where you client is you are always fearful for your job.
Some excellent people driving the success at CGI (now Pyroguard). Difficult production environment to compete against the bigger companies which often doesn’t sit well with production staff. There’s a balance to be struck. Pyroguard has some market leading products lead by an advanced R&D team.
Acrimonious production staff
My internship with CGI has been a perfect example of "Learning while doing". I worked as a HR Associate and got on opportunity to get my hands on all the core HR functions. And ultimately, the internship wouldn't have beena success without the eternal support of my follow team members and mentors. My time here shaped me as an HR Professional, boosted my confidence andcommunication skills
