It was a good way to get my foot in the door with Front Desk of a hotel, summer was crazy busy, winters were dead. Overall, I enjoyed working there, with the co workers I had.

Hotel work is for the adrenaline junkie,

I didn't work directly for Marriott, so tried to key my answers to my position rather than the company. Marriott is a good solid company, if you can function well under pressure you will be OK.

Marriott is a big surprise

With considerable experience in the industry managing a Marriott hotel was a big surprise. The brand's expectations don't reflect reality and their systems are some of the oldest I've ever seen. It seemed every task with the brand took more time then we had.

I worked customer relations and front desk operations.

Managed 7 house keeping representatives to achieve significant improvements in productivity • Participated in relationship building activities working directly with customers, and discovered customer issues and requirements while selling above weekly sales quotas • Built, trained, and motivated an area team of sales and customer service representatives • Prepared and processed business agreements between company and client

I dont think that the management really knows what they are doing and take the sides of other managers even when they are wrong but the other employees made this a really fun job to work at
