Fast paced and fun

Indeed Featured review

I’ve worked at Marriott in various positions since 2018. Mr. Marriott’s philosophy has always been ‘take care of the associates and they will take care of the customer, and they will return over and over again.” The company truly lives by this credo and takes care of all associates equally, with the ability for advancement.

Pros

Cash tips

Cons

Long hours

Good starting out

Good company to start out at but very dependent on what hotel or brand you begin with. The future is in your hands so if you want to move up you are able to do so.

Its okay for a first hospitality job

Not the flashiest job but if you want to know what hospitality is like, working here is a good start. Pay is alright and you generally can make a mistake here and there and be alright as long as you learn.

Pros

Great first job

Cons

Youll eventually burn out

Professional environment fun

Marriott corporate was a fun professional environment easy to transfer anywhere or promote. Worked at several locations with the brand. Management was professional and most locations provided employees staff meals for lunch at no cost. The company got hit hard due to the global covid pandemic lay offs but is bouncing back.

Pros

Free lunches, fun environment easy to promote and build a career

Cons

Were quick to layoff staff during covid times

Easy job

Easy fun job, upper management is horrible. Co workers will turn you in and try to get you fired so they can advance. Decent pay for the work. Tips are ok

Pros

Fun easy

Cons

Horrible management

It sucked because management didn't seem to care so most others didn't either.

Hideously understaffed, with the exception of one manager all the rest of the managers and supervisors were morons who thought they knew everything but didn't know anything.

Pros

It was a job

Cons

Extremely poor management.

Good place

It's a good place to work just not a lot of money to be made. The general manager is never seen on the floor talking to guests only the assistant. Guests were the best part of working here.

fun workplace

morning shifts were fun and busy. afternoon shifts were always the crazy ones especially on the weekends. I learned how the other end of hotels work.i would say the hardest part was helping the drunk hotel guests . the most enjoyable part about working there was the people that I never thought id meet .(celebrities)

Best hotel in Indianapolis.

This sleek hotel featuring a glowing glass roof is 8.1 miles from downtown Indianapolis and 10.1 miles from White River State Park. The traditional rooms have flat-screen TVs with premium cable channels, desks and coffeemakers. WiFi is available (fee). Suites add separate living areas with sofas, plus minifridges, extra TVs and/or wet bars. A few rooms open directly to a courtyard. Some quarters have access to a concierge lounge with free breakfast and evening snacks. There's a chic bistro and wine bar, plus a coffee shop. Other perks include an indoor pool, a hot tub and a gym. There's also 75,000 sq ft of meeting space and a business center.

Nothing Stellar

You go in work your hours and thats it. They don't really set themselves apart from other companies. Free lunch is ok and the HR department do try to make it that everyone feel welcome but the building is old and its kinda of disheartening to always hear guest complaining about the place you work at.

Pros

Free lunch, Cheap Healthcare

Cons

Micromanaging

No room for advancement

They basically try to trap you by keeping you working the same position at the same property forever. To make a long story short I ended up unemployed for three weeks because they played games when I moved and requested a transfer. Had to find another job and work for another company. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL

Coming to work was effortless because everyone was on the same page

We were ranked top 5 marriotts in the nation. So personality and hard work was a must. We Provided friendly service to all guests that entered hotel. Handled luggage with extra care while delivering to our guest room/suit, just to name a few things.

Productive

Working at a hotel you have to learn to deal with all types of emotions and learn to adjust quickly and do what needs to be done to satisfy and add value to the hotel brand.

Pros

Every day felt like a new day as well as new experiences.

Cons

Unorganized
