A very exciting and rewarding position. Working with the some of the best and brightest in the Information Technology Industry. Senior Management was very involved and visible. Lots of opportunity to get a diverse experience and work with a diverse group of people.

Good place to work but needs improvement

management is great, co-workers are good but the environment is hostile because some tend to not get along. You do get free breakfast, seven days a week and dinner, Monday-Thursday.

Professional work environment with great staff but could use improvements

A typical day at work for me would be to check on upcoming events and ensure all event details were executed proficiently and accurately. I learned how to manage events effectively and work in a full service hotel. Workplace culture is friendly. The Hardest part of the job was the work-life balance. The most enjoyable part of the job was the experience in working with some phenomenal people.

Great Company

Marriott is a great company to work for. They are family oriented for parental/maternal leave. They have great benefits as well as a great associate discount program.

Westin Bayshore is a horrible place to work

Management is corrupt unethical and cruel. Very long days, ranging from 15-17 hours per day on property with no time in lieu, nor support or recognition. You will be worked to death at this property. There are two types of people that leave the Westin Bayshore, those that are completely broken or those that never return to hospitality again.

Wonderful fast paced place to work

The Sheraton is a wonderful a place to be employed. The work culture is top notch and it's strive for excellence is unwavering. The Sheraton is a busy place as many large conversion hotels are and you tend to send a lot of time at the office. I have learned an enormous amount at the Sheraton that will assist me in what ever new opportunities I will have in the future.

Summary of Newton Marriott

Convention Service Manager for a 6.5 million $ banquet operation. Opening procedures, set up of all functions, all room turns 15-25 per day. Managing and scheduling 35 banquet housemen and supervisors. China, glass, silver and linen inventory. Front of the house and back of the house sanitation in banquet area and meeting rooms. Storage of all cost of good for banquets, maintaining all par stock inventory. Catering Sales for Corporate groups over 100pp. Weekly sales forecast. Maintenance of all tables, chairs, risers, dance floor, podiums, AV equipment How to manage an extremely high volume convention service department. Corporate Sales for 100+people. Sales forecast. How to increase employee morale. Management were all extremely helpful and experienced. Co-workers were awesome! :) The most challenging aspect of the job was the business volume The experience I gained and the people were the most enjoyable part of this job. :)

4-star hotel with diverse and pleasant environment

The team at The Westin Richmond is very dedicated to the guest. This dedication includes ensuring time and attention to all guests that interact with all departments. The environment is comforting, although it is very fast. It takes hard work and dedication to guests, however, the work/life balance is sometimes trying on individuals, which can lower morale and energy of individuals, which is crucial to provide the proper level of service to guests. Employees must feel just as important and valued as each guest.

Convention Services Manager

Followed up on all leads within 48 hours of receipt in an effort to create new business for the hotel and, when appropriate, sends leads to other hotels. Group retention: I was responsible for rebooking group and applicable catering business through building strong, professional customer relationships and providing consistent outstanding customer service. Account Service and Management: Maintained well-documented, accurate, organized and up-to-date file management in order to serve client and employer in the most expedient, organized and knowledgeable manner.

Beautiful Resort geared towards service excellence with opportunities to grow and intuitively assist guests

As the resort is located in a beautiful destination setting with boat access only, guests rely on information and assurance from hotel associates that everything will be taking care of exquisitely.Being involved specifically in the Banquet area of the food and beverage division, it has been a rewarding, enriching experience planning and staging group's and individuals most memorable moments.The associates are primarily from the local area and culturally unique. They bring a style and flavor that add special charm to the already fantastic offerings of a resort. The management team allows the ownership of tasks and job duties to create experts in all aspects of hotel/resort operations.The hardest part of the job is intangibles associated with a large, outdated property in a secluded enviroment.The most enjoyable is an entire resort team of associates pulling together to win and deliver the utmost seamless performance of hospitality.

these were both very fun atmospheres to work in. i liked the job but was ready for new opportunity

at the westin michigan avenue it was challenging when it came to advancement. there was constant time on the floors but very entertaining with constant client change there was always a different person and a different personality which always kept me on my toes.
