Loss Prevention Officer (Former Employee) - New Orleans, LA - September 27, 2023
It’s not what they tell you in orientation. You will not be appreciated. The same people will be rewarded. Everyone will talk behind your back, nothing you say to h.r. is confidential.
Pros
Free parking
Cons
No trust high insurance rates small raises

Good place to work, TERRIBLE PAY
Anonymous (Current Employee) - Amelia Island, FL - September 26, 2023
The job is good, management is good coworkers are good. The experience hasn't been bad. But the overall experience is unfortunately negatively impacted by the TERRIBLE 1993 WAGES. it's honestly disgusting. 10 million in profits every month and they pay minimum wage.
Pros
Free lunch (if your stomach can handle it) coworkers, two consecutive days off.
Cons
Terrible, Bad, Horrible 1993 wages. The pay is really really really bad!

Meetings and Events Coordinator (Former Employee) - Santa Barbara, CA - September 26, 2023
Typical day at work: Busy -> property is beautiful Management: Poor, they don't seem to care with the majority of the work force (UCSB, SBCC, internships) Work politics, people in management levels are secured Workplace culture: Poor, one of the highest employee turnover I've experienced No break rooms or places for employees to take proper breaks, horrible food for staff
Cons
Needs to be renovated, high employee turnover, work politics, low pay

Tough job, great coworkers
Bartender/Server (Former Employee) - Greensboro, GA - September 13, 2023
I have worked here seasonally for a while now. While I will say it is a tough place to work, especially since I worked outside all summer, the people you work with make it worth it, and everyone is like a family there.

Fun work place
Restaurant Chef (Former Employee) - St Thomas, VI - September 12, 2023
Great resort going to work in paradise was amazing. Your coworkers are friendly, and every once in a great mood. The weather is beautiful every single day, except during storm season but that’s like in September for like 30 days.

Bad management, bad culture
Bartender (Current Employee) - Sarasota, FL - September 7, 2023
I've worked here for many years, and it just keeps getting worse. Management doesn't care about the employees, they make employees work more than necessary and don't listen to us at all. Work life balance is horrible bcz of the hours, working 8-10 hours 5 days a week and not having control of your days off, we can request days off but they often ignore requests, giving us other days off that we don't need, then they make it hard to swap shifts, needing approvals. Management is more concerned with nitpicking us over ridiculous standards that cost us time and money than us making money and being happy at work. We can have a full bar 3 deep and management will come and pull us off bar to tell us that we need to give snacks to people that just ate or don't want a snack. So instead of taking care of guests we have to go through so many pointless hoops in a very busy bar... these standards are meant for a regular hotel bar and restaurant not the busiest restaurant in the company, this costs our guests to get slow service, then they complain and we get in trouble. Also management does not abide by their motto "We are Ladies and Gentlemen serving Ladies and Gentlemen" they let guests get away with almost everything and let them treat us horribly, they don't stand up for us, in fact they often will hide or just do nothing when we have a problematic guest or situation, until the situation explodes and our guests complain, then we get the blame and get in trouble. The upper management is also horrible, just puppets that have no idea how to do their job and just pass the buck.
