Summary
About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. Serves as Counterintelligence (Cl) Special Agent for Area Support Group Kuwait, Directorate of Intelligence and Operations.

Duties
- Provide multi-discipline counterintelligence (Cl) and terrorism threat analysis in support of force protection and Cl operations for the command.
- Advise the commander on emerging threats and produces Cl products recommending appropriate countermeasures directed against such threats.
- Conduct operational coordination with local Cl partners to exchange information and resolve potential Cl problems.
- Conduct Cl surveys of installations to detect, identify, assess, counter, exploit and neutralize threats to national security.
- Prepare and present threat awareness and reporting program (TARP) briefings, security debriefings, and and briefings to operational organizations worldwide.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be required 25% or less of the time.
- This position is considered Emergency-Essential (E-E) in support of the Army's mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increased tension and mobilization and could be assigned to any location worldwide.
- The incumbent must sign DD Form 2365, stating as a condition of employment, to maintain various requirements and overall fitness that make them suitable for assignment to an austere and stressful combat environment is understood.
- The incumbent must maintain certain levels of medical, including the anthrax vaccination; security; performance; conduct; and overall fitness that make them suitable for assignment to an austere and stressful combat environment.
- A family care plan is required for single parents or families where both parents are emergency essential, including situations where one parent is in the military.
- Failure to perform the duties of this position in an emergency may result in appropriate action - defined as separation for the efficiency of the Federal service under the procedures contained in 5 CFR 752.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Heavy physical demands/lifting, must be able to lift 40 Lbs.
- Must pass appropriate physical examination for overseas duty.
- Must successfully complete the Counterintelligence Special Agent Course (CISAC).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience conducting multi-discipline counterintelligence (CI) activities, threat analysis, and security briefings in support of force protection and the assessment of overall security vulnerabilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11).
Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
This is an Intelligence (General) Career Field position.
